REFRESHMENT(XLM 8/24/11): Who Were We Then and Who Are We Now?
Upon eating the appetizer, side dish and main course, some of you might still have hesitations on spreading the Good News. You may look down on yourself and say “I am weak, I ca’t do it”. Well, this is Paul’s answer to that.
- v.26 Now remember what you were, my friends, when God called you. From the human point of view few of you were wise or powerful or of high social standing (meaning we WERE weaklings and unwise!)
But see the transformation. It’s all work of God!
- v. 30 But God has brought you into union with Christ Jesus, and God has made Christ to be our wisdom. By him we are put right with God; we become God’s holy people and are set free.
Notice the sudden change of verb usage - from past tense (WERE) in verse 26 to present (ARE) in verse 30. The transformation is just so amazing. And if you will closely observe, we didn’t take part in any of it. It’s all God’s work in us! From weaklings and unwise people, God called us, saved us and made Christ our wisdom. We are no longer weak and the ultimate source of our strength and wisdom is Him alone.
v. 25 For what seems to be God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and what seems to be God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.
So what shall we do now? Eat the ‘dessert’.
verse 31 So then as the Scripture says, “Whoever wants to boast must boast of what the Lord has done.”

“I know that I will live to see the Lord’s goodness in this present life. Trust in the Lord. Have faith, do not despair. Trust in the Lord.” - Psalm 27:13-14
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Isaiah 55:8-9
Trust His heart…Trust His plans…Trust His lordship.

It is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
Good works are just the results of our faith."
2 MISTAKES that people habitually think of to make it to heaven
- Pastor: There are 2 biggest mistakes that people habitually think of to make it to heaven. First, "We can go to heaven by doing good works." Second "We can go to heaven by not doing good works."
We are the church; so be the church.
Don’t be contented with just going to church every Sunday, sitting in your usual seat, listen to the preaching, receive the benediction and then return to your house. The impact of God’s salvation should manifest in our lives. Take part, get yourself involved…It’s a community project.

Want twins!
I dreamed I was pregnant with twins - one boy and one girl.
How I love to have twin babies!…but it’s not in our blood :( No one from the side of my mom or dad had twins. :(
Lord, I want to have twin babies with my soon-to-be-husband…please…or if not, a boy (first born) and a girl will do…please…
Lol! *desperate for twins?!* hahaha! how many years from now would that be?..haha!
See how faithful God is, how strong God is, how unconditional His love is…if only we’ll wait for Him and place our complete trust and confidence in Him…
Kind David (Psalm 27:13-14)
